White Taro, a newly opened cafe in Surry Hills, is joining the list of some of the famous dining spots in the neighborhood with its range of Vietnamese-fusion menu. They serve an all day menu and I can say taro is definitely not their signature dish. LOL!

Located on Albion Street (near Reuben Hills), this place is painted all white on the outside and inside is so bright with lots of natural light and simple wooden furniture. The space is quite small and can be a bit cramped when full. They also have some tables and seating outside and in the backyard if you want extra space.

We love everything personalised and a Deconstructed Bahn Mi is simply genius! An artfully arranged fusion spread of the traditional Vietnamese street food sandwich is served on a board platter and allowing you to create your own eating style~

The baguette roll was soft and airy with a crisp thin crust, the ohh-so-yum crispy pork belly and house-made chutney, decadently creamy chicken orange pate and spiced kumquat butter, were all balanced by the crunch of lightly pickled veggies, as well as the sharp nip of kimchi.

Their flame-grilled chicken was definitely my favorite! It was so tenderly juicy and had a charred, somewhat smoky and aromatic Vietnamese spice flavor. Served with thin egg noodle, this Chook in Broth tasted so light with its clear chicken and mushroom soup base, egg and wild mushrooms.

If you don't feel like having noodle, get their Vietnamese Chicken on a fluffy Brioche burger bun instead! Served with thinly slices of green papaya, mango, and aioli, you can choose either chips or salad on the side.

So, are you thinking to visit this place anytime soon? Drop some comments below and tell me about it~ =)
