Brainwave Cafe is a new addition to Ultimo area tucked down an alley off Harris Street serving modern Australian dishes with some twists from Thai and Vietnamese flavours.

Their Thai Milk Tea Soft Serve is currently trending on social media and I believe this newly opened cafe is fast becoming a popular spot as they also serve good coffee (Coffee bean by Ona Coffee Company) on top of their tantalizing dishes.

Inside is a nice minimalist place, not too spacious that has a warm ambience with dim yellow lights. They also have couple of tables outside if you need to take a breath of fresh air.

This Drunken Pipi Fettucine certainly is my favorite dish.. A dish with a decidedly Thai flavor over Italian pasta! The aromatic Thai basil, chili and green peppercorn blend really well and make this dish pop with its unique flavor and wonderful freshness. It has that sweeter peppery, warm spicy flavors and strong anise-like aroma paired with al dente (short) pasta.

Slowly stewed with sweet aroma of cardamom and cumin, meltingly tender pork that pulls apart easily and served with fresh crunchy slaw is another way to define curry heaven in this Pulled Pork Burger. Their so-well-seasoned- fries also steal my heart with their crispiness, fluffy inside and go so well with the chili mayonnaise pair.

Another example of an east-meet-west food is this Green Curry Hot Dog. The curry is sweet, rich and creamy at the same time and it's such a great delight when eaten with the lightly toasted hot dog bun. In my opinion, the Thai style beef sausage doesn't go really well with the curry chicken as I find it more enjoyable by eating them separately. LOL!

There's always room for dessert and we can't simply miss the now-trending-Thai Milk Tea Soft Serve (especially when they're still in buy 1 get 1 free promo ;D). I guess they might have changed the "formula" as I heard the soft serve texture now is super creamy. I went there on the first week after they opened and it was still icy. The strong Thai tea flavor is so refreshing and light on the palate makes it a perfect pick me up dessert after splendid meal!
