Lobbie Roll at Johnny Lobster - Crows Nest

Mr. Nomnom was craving for a lobster roll and I remember couple of months ago, there's a new joint serving it up in Crows Nest. Upon entering, Johnny Lobster gives you the casual vibe with its sleek and clean looking modern dining room with a great main colour combination of red, blue, white and black.

The space itself is quite spacious to cater groups especially towards the back area and they are also fully licensed if you want to have your alcoholic beverages as the bar is serving up a range of interesting gin selections to an assortment of beers, ciders and wine.

There is something magical about the succulent and sweet lobster meat on a pillowy-soft hot dog roll. Johnny makes their own Lobster Roll using the knuckle and claw of Canadian lobster, cut into bite-sized chunks and then mixed it with mayo, cooked potato, corn, dill and celery. The meat was tender, thinly coated in mayonnaise and abundantly stuffed into a lightly toasted buttery roll.

Their Prawn Roll is also another crowd's favourite where those succulent king prawns were coated in a light crispy batter and served on top of a bed of creamy peach corn salsa and thick n tangy remoulade sauce.

When done right, there's nothing better than a warm bowl of Seafood Chowder on a cold night! It was thick with soft texture of potato but this was not as smooth as I had hoped and a bit low on the creamy side. Served with pieces of garlic bread, this chowder was also a bit bland and lack of seafood flavour although it's cooked and served together with fish, prawn and calamari.
